The founder, Alex Raricka Claycomb, is a tax accountant. After having several clients ask about budgeting advice, she decided that she wanted to help youth with financial literacy before they became adults. Along with three other passionate members, Dr. April Brooks, Allen Claycomb, and Jill Blackwell-Young, the Claycomb ACCademy was created in September 2016. The program includes middle and high school students in an effort to prepare them for the teaching and real life applications they would receive as teenagers. The program also has workshops for adults, because its never to late to learn about finances and ways to make your financial situation better.
